the start of a new year is coming again!! :)

ok wadever haha. anyhoo, 2008 ended with lotsa gatherings for me. quite a gd thing too cos if we dun, it'll add another year to how-long-we-havent-met.. so yup im reli glad i got to meet up with my dear frens again before the year comes to an official closure! :]

supposedly a gathering with simin weijie chengwai kent and willy but it ended up being a combined gathering for those jj ppl so some other of their classmates were there too.. well ok im not antisocial haha. they're a reli fun bunch anyway so tts gd! ;) but anw, it was nice to meet up again for a proper meal [no alcohol this time lol] and some gd laughs tt evening. turned out to be a whole-nite event cos we decided to go starbucks chit-chat after our dinner at lai lai kitchen. and they kept talking abt their coming-soon taiwan trip!! x( so jealousssss. nehmind i got my holland trip~~~ *smug face* lol kidding :P enjoy ur trip weijie!!! :D

and speaking of tt, can i remind u tt u owe me a vry high quality part 4? :P but im glad i was one of those who received 1st-hand news. haha thank you and im looking fwd to ur full update soon!! ;)

walla!!!!!

its been 7437295749562 years since we met up omg. its been so long i reli forgot how crazy this bunch of ppl are! and in fact i forgot a lot of ppl from the clan and my og too but ok tts not de main point :P ehhh 3years ago 的事 lehhh pardon me lah.. :P

well wont say tt the turnout rate's great but it was ok. we still had lotsa fun crapping arnd and making fun of each other yada yada yada... like wad walla always has been. haha reli missed you guys lots!!!! XD im so glad mich and i decided its time to meet up so we kinda initiated the outing but pushed the organising to john instead AHAHAHA :P smart right lols.

anws, had our dinner and some drinks at wala wala [so WALLA! :P] and i think timbre's better heh. well the thin-crust pizza der is reli better and much more yummier. and the drinks are cheaper i suppose? i reli wanted to refrain from alcohol today so i initially wanted to order coke but its a friggin 5.90 and im NOT getting a 5.90 coke no matter wad so we got black label instead. and hell it was concentrated... i dun like!! x(

went to coffee club after tt cos kinda hard to talk in wala wala... gd choice too cos it was damn funny talking to them at coffee club. reli makes me miss orientation with them a lot!!

it was also cos of today's gathering tt i realised celest's in nie!! like SO NEAR and i din even see her once in sch before!! :(( well now der's one more person i can meet up with in sch. haha and joseph's gonna enter ntu psy next year! heard tt john's trying to get in too but cldnt.. hopefully ntu'll be kind this time round! haha if he gets in den it'll be like lol and confusing to haf the twins attending the same lects everyday. can cheat in exam also nobody noe one :P

yup and the year comes to a closure again. i'd say 2008 has been another rather fulfilling year i guess! im juggling lotsa things as usual and doing lotsa stuff i like to do so i guess tts an accomplishment in a sense. and i'd say i learned quite a lot in this year too. but as a sidenote, wad the tv-person said abt how 2008'll be like for ppl born in the dragon year was reli quite true for me. well most of my daily horoscopes etc are quite accurate so i suppose im one of those "predictable" individuals :P haha but anyhoo, it was reli quite true so, yeah im definitely looking fwd to hear wad tt tv-person has to say abt dragon babies in 2009 haha :P

academically, my results dropped in the semester earlier this year, but got pulled back up again this sem so im really really glad all tt hard work paid off. its a kind of motivation for me to cont working this hard next sem, though i reli think my core subjs will always have this invisible cap of B+ no matter how hard i work lol. its all up to my elecs den. reli hope i can get my shakuhatchi and recording modules!! :)

musically, i wld say it was more of a "downward sloping trend" this year heh. well i shant say it too explicitly but, i reli reli hope 2009'll be much better becos i've had enuff of stagnation these 6mths. cmon gimme a miracle!!

and interpersonally.... lets just say its considered quite a number of experiences within sucha short time frame of a year [weijie: ;)] i guess i gained quite a lot material-ly but tts prob about it. yeah its a girl's privilege, some wld say, but sometimes i reli feel bad abt it... like feeling like a cheater u noe? ahh but anw, i just wonder if all these will end with 2008, or will they prevail into 2009..? well i guess i'll leave tt to the tv-person's prediction haha.

but aside from tt, 2008 also marked the strengthening of quite a few friendships! :) being able to open up and share with ppl, and haf ppl trust u enuff to share with u.. this really makes me feel vry blessed tt i haf trusty confidantes arnd whom i can grumble to when im in a bad mood and share "deep secrets" with, and also makes me feel a tad more impt, at least to the ppl who trusted me enuff to confide in me. i guess u girls noe who u are yah? ;) haha thank you for always being arnd! :))

ok i suppose i'll just wrap up my 2008 with tt. maybe it seems like a down-y 2008 at this point but its really not. der're lotsa nice things tt happened tt are hard to describe in words -or rather, here- and lotsa stuff tt i cant recall currently cos its 1.30am and im reli kinda tired from running arnd de whole day haha. hopefully 2009'll be another reli great year for all of us! :D rmbr, 明年会更好!!! XD


a wonderful xmas (albeit fattening one) was spent in johor this year! short and sweet :) its quite heartening to noe tt we can all still talk and laugh arnd even though we havent met up for SO long, that we can still feel as close we were last time. u noe sometimes u can just feel weird meeting up with someone u havent met for vry vry long? like u duno wad to say and all tt? well im glad this wasnt the case for us :))

and speaking of fattening up, i've reli eaten a lot -yes i mean A LOT- this december. big input and normal output... this just means i've ABSORBED all the extras right???? :(((

but seriously, i felt the fatness when i left johor. hard to avoid when ppl are stuffing u with lotsa food, even giving me double breakfasts and !! dinners. take the last nite for example. my godma asked if i wanna eat homecooked food. of course yes!! its been EONS since i last had sth cooking in the kitchen other than maggie mee. so she cooked dinner for us. had a nap and when i woke up, i realised my godbro ordered TWO pizzas too cos apparently they had alr "planned" to do so even before we went johor. ok so we haf a full homecooked meal plus 2 pizzas to clear =/ i swear, its a lot. even for 7 ppl.

pizza, den slp. and when i woke up the next day, pizza again cos der's still one WHOLE pizza leftover -.- how to not get fat u tell me. haix. exercise exercise i nid to exercise!!!!!

went to watch the gig at esplanade on fri evening and woots think its great!! :D well der may be some parts tt're not so great but generally i think its gd. at least those tt i support are :D haha reli enjoyed the performances! and the fattening gluttons bay supper was quite a lol one too. we seldom get to all sit and crap tgt right! :D and gd thing we didnt succumb to cedric's ice cream request after tt :] lols.

ht was ill ytd so it was just us, tim and matthew at fourtones. sucks cos the person cheated me and told me big room but it ended up to be small room instead. tsk. doesnt help tt the equipment are chui-er than ever and its -.- to even just step into the room and LOOK. haix. and now tt backbeats has shifted, byebye clarke quay~

but anw, reli hope tim's mom's ok now..

stoned arnd at central then peninsular then funan while waiting for 8pm jamming. hurrr 5hrs gap is reli long..... but anyhoo, evening finally arrived and woots jamming! :D and for the FIRST TIME, no one was late!!!! :D everyone reached the beside-tiet-de-kopitiam at 7++ so *thumbs up* lol. eh emerson u win 4D liao tell me ok! haha :P

1st time jamming at tiet and its GOOOD!! love the sound system there and everything. vry long nv hear the kinda sound tts wow u noe. haha finally another studio arnd backbeats standard :D:D:D and since got student price, i became a mbr and yay can jam de big room der next time (when we're feeling rich) :D

but i still hope the backbeats new studio will be as gd at the old one :) *tiet very ex!!*

had a last gathering today before our dear deborah leaves for UK. im so gonna miss her lots!! ok im gonna install skype so we can keep in gd contact these 6mths lol. thank you so much for the belated bday present tooo! :)) hope she'll have a great exchange over there!

received a xmas card from jingxiu just now and another one from simin when i opened my mailbox! really feel so so touched that i received those cards and read the messages. and the bday blogpost from weijie was so sweet!! thank you!!! :)) the messages from u girls make me feel so uber loved lahhhh hahha XD but u're making me feel guilty abt not sending out cards! x( alright im so gonna make it a 2009 resolution to get everyone's addresses and send out those warm greetings during this season of love! hahah quite true lah huh, when else can u find a reason to send these cards??

well, am gonna celebrate xmas in long-time-no-see johor this year and im sure it'll be a great one. i definitely miss my godfamily lots! if u ask me wad i can immediately rmbr abt them, its their big terrace hse and greatest family warmth, laughters, and 3 playful little kids. well, not so little now alr but, they'll always be my "little siblings". haha everyone's growing up so quickly!! some time back, i heard some gossip abt my godbrother and this girl in sch.... hahahaha im gonna force him to update me mann :P and i wonder how the other 2 girls are doing now. and how my godmom's shop is doing, how their neighbours (we're all quite close) have been.... its really like another home der! haha woohoo cant wait to see them tmr nite :)))

had dinner at vivo's white dog cafe and slurps i still rmbr the pacific dory i had was reli nice!! just tt serving a bit small... :( well ok lah. i was quite satisfactorily-full after i finished my fillet and mashed potato and salad and simin's pasta and yihui's salad cos she doesnt lke vegetables :)

alright so de serving was reli quite small haha. and it was impromptu kbox after tt!!! lol did i mention i've been contributing to kbox's revenue A LOT recently?? think i went der abt 4 times this mth alr.. =x nvm lah. 开心就好!! XD

Celebration 5 (18 & 20-12-08)

family bday celebration! :D it came in 2 parts this year. haha one part as i blogged before, and 2nd part on actual day, starting with the surprise cake tt actually resided in MY FRIDGE!! and i din noe it -.- but still, yay! :D cant believe my mom bought sucha a big one. how to finish!!

still had some time before PBO so went to shop for xmas presents for my godfamily. woohoo finally got them settled! :D went to haf them wrapped and SO QIAO the gift wrapper who wrapped mine was just beside kennie! hahaha talked to her a bit and all tt. hope she wont get told off by the manager for talking to a customer! :P lols. saw my ex-manager cynthia too and she recognised me! lols tot she cant rmbr me liao :P yup yup happy day ytd! to think i was still working shift der 2 bdays back keke.

yup went to pbo after tt and woots think the performances rocked! :D particularly loved the ones by weekend vacancy, quis, and lemon. double kudos!! OH i forgot. we inhaled lotsa secondhand smoke too >=( hello dear smokers in front of us, just becos we're unfortunate enuff to queue behind u doesnt mean we're also "entitled" to irritable chatterings and direct puffs of smoke. the grp of ppl in front of us while we're queuing for rebel especially pissed me off with their 90dB conversation and smelly smoke on top of my alr-irritated mood. at this pt i wld like to quote sth i read from xiaxue's blog: "which part of fking smelly and lung cancer do u NOT understand???"

ARGH. mood spoilers seriously.

but gd thing today was much much better :))) went shopping for presents with ahbond and im so glad we got everything all in one store *no nid walk arnd too much hehehe*. met some ex-giftwrapper-colleagues at taka too! haha din noe they went back der to work. its reli nice to be meeting old frens! :D *and i realised i've been meeting a lot of old frens recently* but heard tt this year's biz was reli quite bad.. de queue's not even considered long apparently =x haix economic downturn...

simin went back for yummy homecooked mee goreng while i met up with my parents for advanced bday dinner. reli sucks tt my dad's not free on actual day to celebrate :(( but nvm i 敲-ed quite a lot from him recently alr, and with tt crystal jade dinner we just had... haha okay i shld let him off :P

its been real long since we had a family dinner. it was always just mom and me. but today my dad ate with us too so im veeeeeeeery happy! :D its been so long i almost forgot his "irritating" lame sense of humour tt nv failed to crack me up when i was young. well, it still does, just tt i dun hear it so often anymore haha. but i got a dose of it today! :]

freaking tired and slpy but my hair refuses to dry, im lazy to blow-dry it, and the file refuses to finish uploading so, i shall blog bout batam trip a bit to kill time..

Day 1

:D:D:D we're finally at batam [read: out of singapore]!!

firstly, the room was reli big and vry cosy for 3 ppl so we totally love the accomodation :))

secondly, the ppl der are really nice!!! seriously, u'll nv get this kinda treatment from ppl in sg. the coach driver who picked us up from the ferry terminal was SO friendly and all tt, the concierge, the room service person, the waiters... everyone's just SO NICE!!! god. must be the culture mann~~

anyhoo, 1st day was of shopping, ktv, and vry late dinner! shopping at nagoya for 4hrs was reli....... too long. lols. well i din expect much from batam shopping also lah.. =x lets just say, we totally enjoyed shopping at hypermart the most. food!!!! XD

oh and the A&W. THE A&W!!!!!!!! totally miss that restaurant lahhh!!!! WHY MUST IT BE DISCONTINUED IN SINGAPORE!?!!?!?!?!?!!?! >=( but anw, it feels ABSOLUTELY AMAZING to be eating A&W ice cream waffle and CURLY FRIES and taking in large doses of its rootbeer float. its so nostalgic i feel lke smuggling the whole restaurant home in my bag ahaha ok i cant. but WOOHOOOOO its lke childhood memories u noe!! XD

back to resort after tt and KTV!! 18sgd in total for 3 PPL is WOOTS cheap and we love it a lil more than kbox cos it has stuff lke jay chou version of 屋顶 etc. hahaha but de mtvs sometimes vry japalang vry funny lols. doesnt matter. KTV ROCKS!!!

and dinner arnd 11pm after tt.. pasta rocks tooo!! XD here's where we met super-nice Mr. Waiter who ended our day perfectly :)

buffet breakfast rocks!!!! XD [yeah lke everything rocks right?? wait til u read abt de one thing tt didnt rock..] its been so long since i had sucha healthy nutritious breakfast and a buffet one somemore in which i din feel lke im "stuffed" full. *thumbs up*. rawks.

went back to room to slack a bit before proceeding to massage. YES MASSAGE!!!! one of my must-dos for this trip and it was one of the best things tt happened during the trip!! XD

really, the 60mins session wld've been purrrrfect had it not been for the contacts issue. ARGHHH.

i was having the back massage and facing downwards, with the aromatherapy essential oils below. i was closing my eyes and "sleeping" and when i opened them halfway thru the massage, i realised my right eye's vision was clear but my left eye's was not. =| which means my contact lens got lost somewhere in the eye and i was feeling "oh shit" and blinking blinking to see if i can get it back in position but it didnt. so i decided to give up after 3mins worth of futile-ly blinking at essential oils and went back to "slp". opened my eyes after a while again and this time i cld "see" my left lens arnd de side of my eye. i blinked once and witnessed the lens peeling off my eye and falling...... into the huge bowl of essential oils below me -_______-

oh great.

it was such a disaster but gd thing de masseuse brought me a contacts case soon and i managed to soak it... but de lens alr felt damn dry when i err picked it up from the bowl of oil =x til now i still havent tried it back on but it shld reli be thrown huh? BUT MY MONEYYYYYY...... oni wear 10days lehhh :(((((

damn shld've just closed my blardy eyes and SLEPT!! grr.

other than that, massage was great and yay one item checked on the to-do list :D

rained quite heavily after tt so we slacked and erm fell aslp in the room after tt. haha i fell aslp in the armchair and almost assumed its shape when i woke up cos i was so stiff from tt weird position i slept in =x so much for massaging..... but its ok. i felt lke i've totally absorbed all the essential oils massaged onto my skin after tt lols.

shopping at batam center when the rain stopped! it was a lil better than the nagoya one but still, nth much to buy. haha and lke wad monster told me, it reli makes us miss singapore's shopping a lot. a lot a lot lols. but but the food der reli vry 划算!!! 6 j.co donuts for oni 4sgd!!! XD

had dinner at golden prawn 933 seafood restaurant after tt and WOOTS 10bucks for sambal kangkong oatmeal prawns fried prawns hotplate tofu and lemon chicken is totally lke free!!!! XD eat until super shuang can~~~ well although the prawns were more lke shrimps and makes me miss my downstairs oatmeal-BIG-prawns a lot, its still vry cheap for 10bucks per person :)) i love seafood!!

and back to resort after tt. the whole day was reli great and free of tranportation burden cos the taxi driver picked us up from wherever we went! :D tt was reli a nice service cos think it'll be reli hard to get a cab from batam center and worse still the seafood restaurant at 10+pm =x kudos to the service sector there!!

Day 3

buffet breakfast again! gd tt dishes were a lil different [reminds me of the SAME buffet breakfast i had for 5days in the hongkong hotel 3years back. by the 3rd day it was alr -.-"] and still super filling plus happy-ating for us :D love breakfast!!

jacuzzi after tt cos we din haf time for tt ytd. haha and it was so fun! =x lols okayyy they're just a bunch of bubbles coming up from the floor but its reli nice sitting der stoning and enjoying it. lols.

and tt was the last event in the trip. quite a gd trip in tt we all fulfilled wad we wanted to get outta the trip! :D we got outta singapore, we had our massages, slacked full-time with no sms-ing etc, watched tv or read mags whenever we liked.... thats life!! XD

but i really miss the shopping in singapore. hahaa - OH YAH we all bought a piece of clothing from polo at the ferry terminal cos it was vry cheap!! lke discounted and all.. wont find tt in sg i think lols. so :D i bought sth!!!! other than food haha :P

okok my hair is damn dry now. TIME TO SLEEP. band resumes tmr. hope i wont be too dead!

Ben&Jerry's Chunk Fest

lieww totally NO FATE and i mean no fate with ben&jerry's can!!! allow me to recall the "tragedic" string of unfortunate events that happened ytd.

we all met up at ps happily in the noon and we're looking super forward to chunk fest! like woohooo lotsa ice cream!! XD wanted to go to fort canning after lunch den we saw tt it was raining heavily outside :( so nvm we just walked arnd a bit and can go again when the rain stops.

the rain finally stopped, and we're still vry happy on the way to fort canning cos we're thinking, why let a bit of rain dampen our moods! ICE CREAM STILL ROCKS!! :D

until the point where we reached the muddy paths at fort canning and damn its reli quite a long walk from ps u noe?? i swear all my yoshinoya got digested on the way der.

we finally heard music and YAY we're at chunk fest!! den we realised EVERYTHING'S happening on the grass. -__- yes. MUD. blardy, irritating, MUD everywhere!!! but NVM we came all the way here, cant just turn back at the doorstep right?? so we walked in vry bravely and went to join the queue which is super super long....

AND MUDDY. damn !!!!!!!! can! we were still quite high at first so we took some photos while queuing and thinking it'll distract us from all the yucky mud BUT NO. we reached the point where der're lotsa ants crawling on our feet for which we then saw we're standing beside an ANT COLONY. and den we saw some disgusting earthworm which is totally EEEEWWWWWWWW. on top of all the mud and long queue and supreme humidity AND tired legs.

and so we cldnt take it anymore, decided a cup of ice cream wasnt worth all these, and left. BYEBYE CHUNK FEST.

went to parkmall to clean our muddy feet [to those who went in as we went out, say bye to ur squeaky clean sneakers cos they wont be clean for long. even my blue toenails changed color can?] and walked to cathay to eat at air-coned ben&jerry's instead......

or so we thought. the queue's damn long again!!! and we're so tired we just wanna sit immediately so we decided to cab down to suntec ben&jerry's cos der cfm much lesser ppl so we wont hafta wait.

and we alighted at the wrong tower so we walked again. all these just for ICE CREAM can u believe it?? im amazed at how much determination we all haf lols. anw, walked all the way to the other tower.....












AND REALISED THE BEN&JERRY'S OUTLET 倒闭 ALR.

all in all, we walked a million miles to muddy fort canning, to take photos, and walk back :) so much for a "rain-or-shine" event huh? it wld've been really great had it not rained at all. haix.

since no xcjjj jamming after skyler jamming, went to town with them.. we literally WALKED almost the whole of orchard lahh. from wheelock carpark walk to taka, den to cuppage, to heeren, to far east, and back to wheelock. haha wokehhhs. and met quite a few "long-lost" ppl today! lols reli vry coincidental. and visited weijie at borders bistro since she's working there tonite :D din get to update her on stuffs cos she working cant talk BUT NVM i'll update u soon! :D

well anw its been quite a great day today :) lotsa retarded stuffs happened but ITS OK. im getting vry immune to skyler's rubbish lols :P and absolutely much better den ytd's chunk fest but ok lets not even mention it alr. haha. sentosa tmr!! :D i hope i can wake up in time. lols ok time to go off. ciaos!

its great roaming arnd bugis street and far east again :D had dinner at taka after tt with my mom at breeks! quite nice but a lil pricey =x think my mom's in an indulge mood today too cos she reli didnt seem to care abt the food price tt much. she initially wanted to eat coca buffet!!! a freaking 35bucks per person and i wasnt even hungry -.-

geographically, it really is. but anw, lets hope i'll improve more soon cos err i havent been touching guitar for reli-super-duper-long and i wanna try playing acoustic for larc's lsot heaven!! woots so exciting XD hahaha well we shall see how. it'll take me at least a mth =x

and i received my last 19th and first 20th present from andrew ytd! :D thnx a lot for the musicbox!!! reminds me of how i anyhow placed an order with him for delivery on my bday some time back =x lols. and reminds me tt im REALLY turning 20 soon :(( *haix* but it was reli quite a nice surprise :) which also reminds me i havent get his overdue bday present yet so i better get it soon and yeah i'll try to jiayou on guitar more :D

心晴大动员 nv fails to make me tear. hearing the heart-wrenching real-life stories of ppl and seeing the kinds of conditions they've been living in all these years, seeing how ppl stayed by their families who're down with mental illnesses or physical incapabilities, how strong they are to continue living on and supporting their families etc etc, just makes me realise how fortunate i really am. maybe my life isnt gd in many aspects, but its really nth much to complain abt when u see what worse ones others are going thru. esp when i see the stories tt involve mentally ill family mbrs... haha i duno how to put it in words. somehow, it strengthened the "psychologist-to-be" part of me in a way. well just think its really a great program and one of the very few that can really reach into and touch ppl's hearts :) kudos to the crew and volunteers involved!
