flute festival's here and we've booked a 2hr slot for flute maintenance today! so nice. its free service, but with priority given to muramatsu flutes :) had the chance to try out a range of muramatsu flutes tooo! they were arranged according to price (but got mixed up by us when we tried hahaha oops :P) and seriously they look SUPER ATTRACTIVE sparkling away at one corner of the room and tempted cindy and i to go over :P didnt really dare to try them cos they're freaking exp but we did in the end, and yay i finally tried platinum flute!! XD quite resistant and heavy enough to train arm strength i thk~ and expensive enough to exchange for a car =x so scary. as u try the flutes from left to right, the price go from $4k plus.. to $10k plus.. to $100k plus =x ahhhhhh!!!!

but they're really nice. check out those beauties!!

ENGRAVED LIP PLATE WHEN WILL U BE MINE??
oh santa wont u make my dream come true~~~ lol. $300!!

super chio engraved keys!!

oh my. i really love this one. think its the 14k gold flute. but i guess its superficial cos i oni like the design :P prefer the sound of the 24k one!!! uber nice~

fluties trying out sparklies~

and the "gods" helping us to service our instruments!!!!

they're really damn zai. not just in repairing but also in their playing. *worships*

really takes a lot of patience to dismantle the whole thing and adjust here and der and put it back and try out and all tt. i rmbr der was one oldyamaha flute tt took the guy suuuuper long to fix... initially sounds funny but he fixed it in e end!!! *thumbs up* :):)

halfway through, this rather famous flautist (who just had his recital performance the day before) came in with 2 other ppl, and tried out the flutes on display too. this flautist is my flute tutor's fellow "classmate", and one of the 2 others, is his flute teacher =| ahhhh shifu's shifu!!!! and their playing is really, WOAHHHHHHH. 果然高明. listening to the "free concert" as they test-played the flutes just totally makes us speechless lol.

went out to look ard the merchandise while waiting for our flutes, and had a small damage of $23 to my wallet balance :( well, at least they're not useless stuff. investment investment!! dear flute, u're gonna be reaaaaal shiny again vry soon!! :D

went back to the room and sadly, the 3 repair guys have gone for lunch. and my flute was just next in queue! :(((( had to leave alr so got chen yi to help me take it back afterwards.. ahhh totally cant wait to get my 老公 back!! XD

its been a loooong time since i shopped with peiwen :)) miss this girl!! hee. had a fun time browsing clothes with her (all in search of my ideal pink blouse but somehow it ended up being a white one in the shopping bag instead), eating yummy little food with her at ion, having girl talk, and laughing at the retardedly cute notebooks at artbox :D thank u for the fun evening sai sai~~~ *wide wide grin*

oh noo got this girl behind spoil our lomantiku-ness!!
but still, :))

dad fetched me back from town after that, and he asked about how my formal-clothes-shopping went today. told him i only managed to get a blouse, have yet to find a nice comfortable pair of black heels, and am still contemplating getting a skirt. a surprise came when he told me that blouse will usually look nicer with skirt so i shld just get the skirt. "boomz" cos its like, he's asking me to buy sth! lols. surprise surprise.

but still, i was thking that, if my concert pants (:P) look fine with the blouse i bought, then der's really no need for the skirt already~

and true enough, when i got home and tried my formal attire, they really look ok tgt. yays! and yah becos its kinda the "first" time im wearing full formal, i was a little self conscious and kept checking in the mirror whether everything really looks fine, from collar to cuff to hair to how much my blouse is tucked in etc. hahah ok i know its retarded but, i really wanted to look "okay"!! lols.

den my dad came into the room, saw me looking at the mirror again for the dunowad-th time, and commented,

"镜子要破了啦"

tskk -_-

so. mean.

everytime also lidat one >=(
but he also said i really look ok so yay i shall believe that :D

now i really need my heels! >.<

shopping again with jingxiu-san tmr! cant wait cant wait :):)

omg just saw this from World Wildlife Foundation newsletter and its so shocking!!

Live tiger found in luggage

A two-month-old tiger cub was rescued by Bangkok airport officials in August after being found sedated and hidden with a stuffed tiger toy in a woman's luggage. The cub, which might not have survived the intended trip to Iran, was transferred to a rehabilitation center. Tiger populations in Thailand and throughout Asia are critically threatened by poaching and trading done to meet the international demand for tiger parts, live tigers and tiger products.

(full article)

angryyyy!!!!! how can ppl STUFF a tiger into sucha tiny luggage???? dont they realise there's NO SPACE and NO AIR for the poor cat????? grrrrr. these ppl ought to be locked in luggages themselves for 10days!!!! no. more than 10 days!!! >=(
thankfully the officers inspected the suspicious bag and rescued the cub. if not i seriously think it wldnt survive the flight [no space no air lotsa throwing around plus high pressure up in the air: how to live???] and even if it did, it probably wldnt have a gd ending with those wildlife traffickers.

wildlife traffickers and illegal poachers and those other related evil fellas should really be cursed til death. which part of endangered do they not understand??? yeah its very mean of me to curse ppl but it really makes my blood boil to know that ppl are killing dolphins, cutting off sharks' fins and throwing the shark back into the sea, skinning live foxes, STUFFING CUBS INTO LUGGAGES........ totally inhumane!! go and die!!!!!

ANGRY.

been a while since i updated here. just feel like posting sth kinda-random for now. shall update properly next time~

u know, one thing abt studying psych is that sometimes u can just relate so easily to what u see on ur lecture notes, and u see/feel/sense how real theories can be, even though they can be "just theories".
the situations they describe, the trends that they see;
not everything i read is personally applicable, but there has been a few times where the printed words i see on my notes just reflect what im going through or have been through. in a way, it can be a little "wow" to see ur own "type" of situation being described in theory, but in a more pessimistic light, it can sometimes feel a bit weird to be described so accurately too, especially when it happens to be of a more negative issue. and today in adolescents lect, i found myself staring at those kind of words again. words describing the type of situation that may be rather prevalent in modern families, the type of difficulties that can be predicted from the situation, what possible consequences etc etc. sometimes its just so real in my world that i sigh secretly in my head, especially when u see negative connotations being linked to what is described. im not affected by being "described", but just cant help feeling bit gloomy abt these "sad" things happening ard the world, and in my world too.

the prof kind of held a little longer onto the point that because we're all part of the family system, we're part of the problem too, and also contribute to maintaining that equilibrium that everyone in the family subconsiously strives to sustain, even if the equilibrium is negative. humans are really thAt resistant to change, and although i know that this statement is true since forever, it just seems more prominent now that i also see it in my own life, when i take a step back and look at my own family too.

and this post probably doesnt make sense too because its kinda jargon-ish and random. just some leftover thoughts i have from today :)

spoke to my prof after lect too abt graduation stuff. she's really nice to talk to, and im glad i managed to clarify some things that have been on my mind.

to some very fortunate ones, graduation is nothing much. just another transition point in life.
to others, its a slightly more stressful issue because u start to see many points of reality kicking in, the new responsiblities u suddenly have after that hour of ceremony and throwing the graduation cap, the next path u will have to once again decide for urself, and hopefully it'll be a path that all other significant ppl in ur life also concur with. quite a few decisions to be made, and perhaps also another burden added on. **haha ok i know im not being my positive self today. dont thk sagittarians are 24/7 optimistic kay. can negative also one :P** i really just hope that, 船到桥头(真的会)自然直. that things will really be ok, that my worries are not that necessary after all. for now, just concentrate on doing well for my modules, and get that honours that i need.

in today's lect it was also covered that sg students are seriously way stressed over academics than their US counterparts. ha. who's gonna deny that? =/
