and of cos, the other only happy moments i have had recently cld only be those including retail therapy cos seriously, when all else fails, THERE'S SHOPPING!! XD cheers ppl up u know, although wallets may feel differently.. haha but anw, went to shop for last min stuff with yiting, marie and kwang liang on wed before band prac! :) got my sling bag (i realised my bags are all pickpocket-friendly cos either zip spoil or totally no zip at all) and also some toiletries and other japalangs for our trip. woots damn exciting can!! its only 4 more days to holland... XD !!!!

and met up with peiwen for town-ing today! :D feels great to be able to have a proper day off, to wear nicer clothes other than t-shirt-and-jeans, and to go shopping! XD ahaha oh no im turning into a shopaholic.. help!! >.<

shopped at far east a little, and then at ion. ion seems really nice! XD but like soooo many shops tt its a little overwhelming =/ anyhoo, was at aldo and OH MY TIAN can i just declare that i totally LOVE their shoes????? the heels are damn nice!!! i just wish they're priced lower so at least im "nearer" to them haha. now they're like.. as far as the moon??? :((

and i finally decided on getting a 4-wheel luggage for my trip! rahhh i spent so much for this trip mann.. and im not even der yet! X( the 2 weeks better be worth everything haha. last practice on sat before we fly off to the netherlands.. so fast. a while ago WMC was still sth far far away~ lols. really hope it'll be a gd trip and great experience! :D

Bible Salesman ...

A preacher concluded that his church was getting into very serious financial troubles. While checking the church storeroom, he discovered several cartons of new Bibles that had never been opened and distributed.

So at his Sunday sermon, he asked for three volunteers from the congregation who would be willing to sell the Bibles door-to-door for $10.00 each to raise the desperately-needed money for the church.

Jack, Paul and Louis all raised their hands to volunteer for the task.

The minister knew that Jack and Paul earned their living as salesmen and were likely capable of selling some Bibles. But he had serious doubts about Louis who was a local farmer, who had always kept to himself because he was embarrassed by his speech impediment. Poor Louis stuttered badly. But, not wanting to discourage Louis, the minister decided to let him try anyway.

He sent the three of them away with the back seat of their cars stacked with Bibles. He asked them to meet with him and report the results of their door-to-door selling efforts the following Sunday.

Anxious to find out how successful they were, the minister immediately asked Jack, 'Well, Jack, how did you make out selling our Bibles last week ??'

Proudly handing the minister an envelope, Jack replied, 'Using my sales prowess, I was able to sell 20 Bibles, and here's the $200.00 I collected on behalf of the church.'

'Fine job, Jack !!' The minister said, vigorously shaking his hand. 'You are indeed a fine salesman and the Church is indebted to you.'

Turning to Paul, 'And Paul, how many Bibles did you sell for the church last week ??'

Paul, smiling and sticking out his chest, confidently replied 'I am a professional salesman. I sold 28 bibles on behalf of the church, and here's $280.00 I collected.'

The minister responded 'That's absolutely splendid, Paul. You are truly a professional salesman and the church is indebted to you.'

Apprehensively, the minister turned to Louis and said 'And Louis, did you manage to sell any Bibles last week ??' Louis silently offered the minister a large envelope.

The minister opened it and counted the contents. 'What is this ??' the minister exclaimed. 'Louis, there's $3200 in here !! Are you suggesting that you sold 320 Bibles for the church, door to door, in just one week ??'

Louis just nodded. That's impossible !!' both Jack and Paul said in unison. 'We are professional salesmen, yet you claim to have sold 10 times as many Bibles as we could.'

'Yes, this does seem unlikely,' the minister agreed. 'I think you'd better explain how you managed to accomplish this, Louis.'

Louis shrugged. 'I-I-I re-re-really do-do-don't kn-kn-know f-f- f-for sh-sh-sh-sure,' he stammered.

Impatiently, Peter interrupted. 'For crying out loud, Louie, just tell us what you said to them when they answered the door !!'

'A-a-a-all I-I-I s-s-said wa-wa-was,' Louis replied, 'W-w-w-w- would y-y-y-you l-l-l-l-l-like t-t-to b-b-b-buy th-th-th-this b-b- b-b-bible f-f-for t-t-ten b-b-b-bucks ---o-o-o-or--- wo-wo-would yo-you j-j-j-just l-like m-m-me t-t-to st-st-stand h-h-here and r-r-r- r-r-read it t-to y-y-you ???'

realised i hadnt been blogging for damn long =x time really passes this fast mann... its only 1 week to holland trip!!! >.<

as u wld've guessed, past week's been packed with work and band as usual, with a few additions like going down to STA to pay for our europe train passes (263 euros aka $590 goneeeeee), meeting up with the grp to get "rations" for the trip (as though we're going for field camp.. spent 60bucks on snacks zomg!) and discussing our itinerary..... much much planning going on x_x

had a real breather away from my work-band-sleep routine when THE GREATER PLAN was finally executed on friday XD its been eons since i met up with jj gang!! totally miss clubbing with this bunch cos it was nv anything else but FUN! XD sad tt weijie cldnt join us though :(( nxt time nxt time! hahha. looking forward to future sessions! XD

listening to secret ambition again, and its really damn nice! XD love her voice and her live~~ XD but anw, :))))

dad's finally done with the AYG bookings so he fetched me back today after band, which ended early ard 930pm! haha. anw, drove to clementi with the purpose of depositing cash into my acct but the queue was daaaamn long -.- wad are all these ppl doing depositing money at 10pm... well ok we're kinda part of tt grp too huh? haha.

drove to ghim moh after tt cos we din wanna wait (the queue is really damn long), and i had this craving for roti prata (dad mentioned 'bt timah' at some pt and tt place reminds me of roti prata so i had auto cravings) so went to nus prata for supper! :D its been abt 10 million years since i last ate with my dad can.... lol. im happy! :))

and i thk dad's quite cute too hahaha.

- he was trying to psycho me into eating at ghim moh mkt instead of going all the way to nus prata, but i was super reluctant cos i really wanted nus prata (:P).

dad: "ghim moh got a lot of things to eat one"
me: "i dowan"
dad: "ghim moh also got roti prata :)"
me: "dowan i wan nus prata"
dad: ".... ah! ghim moh got western food. i order one fish and chips for u ok? :D" -->(fish&chips were my fav western food dish)
me: ".. dowan. i wan nus prata."
dad: ">=( 你很麻烦啊!" -->(he lost)
me: ":DD"

haha i always "win"~ but probably becos he always lets me win :P

- he initially wanted me to da bao home so wont waste time eating der, but i wanted to eat with him so i told him i wanna eat at the place, and asked him to eat with me too. then he said "dowan lah so late liao ask me eat roti prata! alr so fat liao... *looks at tummy*" hahahahaha. so he's afraid of getting fat too :P

- he told me nus prata there confirm no place to park, and when we're just reaching der he was openly praying "no space no space..." *kns* then this car right in front of us started to reverse from the parking lot. HA. fated~~~ :P then he "aiyah..... haix eat lah eat lah" lol. woohoo! XD

- he has a video of michael jackson's Beat It on his phone and is damn excited abt it. he loves MJ's dance. i told him to go learn (completed with eyebrow-smiley), and he just laughed it off hahah.

- when we go home we always push the you-open-the-door job to the other person. this time was no different. we're at the doorstep alr and seeing as he hasnt taken out his keys, i started digging in my bag to find mine. then he reached into his pocket to find his keys too, so i stopped digging for mine since he's gonna have the key. apparently he thought the same thing too cos it ended up with both of us withdrawing our hands from bag/pocket with no keys lol. it was quite funny when it happened lah haha. and it was dad opening the door in the end :P


ok actually this is just a whole entry of rubbish right lols. but i know that when i look back at my archives next time, this entry will definitely be one of those that make me smile, cos such moments with my dad dont come by often. i really enjoy daddy-time and being daddy's girl again! :)

1. i had my long-time-no-eat thosai masala for breakfast! :D soooo nice. thk i'll eat tt again tmr :P

2. finally went to have this neck-and-shoulder "massage". my muscles have been aching for weeks.. they're finally ok now! woots! :)

3. took flu jab today. 32bucks in exchange for my mom's peace of mind while i depart for europe in 3wks' time~~

4. read magazine on couch. yeah this may be damn ordinary but, its really nice to just sit and read after days of work and running abt :)

5. practised my flute!!!!! this is like one huge accomplishment cos i've been telling myslf "i need to i need to" but always nv =x but practised only for a while den stop le cos dear came over..

6. and we went to watch ice age 3!!! :D:D was supposed to watch with pw emerson and chan too but in the end just left us haha. anws, its a really funny and cute movie! great for laughs :D and i hope emerson's car is ok too lol.


p.s: this japanese poster of ice age is so nice!! i totally adore the 3 baby dinosaurs~~~ hahaha. esp the *scratch butt* action LOL.

7. i got a free subway cookie! :)) headed to wcp to stone for a while before going home, and i suddenly felt like having a subway cookie. subway was closing alr, but i thought i'll just try my luck, and was very lucky cos der're still white chip cookies left! XD the person didnt charge me for the cookie though lol. thk they close register le so didnt wanna bother updating another puny $1.20 inside haha. weeee so good. made my day! XD (not becos its free -ok not entirely- but cos i get to eat white chip!! recently i've always been told der're no more white chip cookies so its damn sad :(

8. i had ahdear-time today :))) thanks for the famous amos cookies too! XD im sure they'll taste especially nice~~ hahah :P

today's like an off-day for me! :D

although i was uber reluctant to get up this morning at 8am after only 6hrs of slp and a super-long-ytd, i had a great breakfast session with mommy dearest! completed with our favourite roti prata and thosai too~ XD mom updated me abt her work these 2 wks and how horrible and unreasonable her manager had been. ha gd opportunity to use the phrase, like mother, like daughter~~ lols. also made me realise how long i havent talked to my mom X(

but anw, breakfast was great and so was band today :) was supposed to catch a movie with mom after band cos she sudd felt lke watching a horror movie but THANK GOD - no, THANK THE CINEMAS there werent any movie tt appealed to her too much so we abandoned the movie session and shopped instead :P

came back in time to catch harry potter and the sorcerer's stone on ch5! :D



isnt daniel radcliffe just sucha cute kid??? :P the two also haha. miss the kiddy harry potter characters! XD

have watched this movie instalment many many times, but its still very appealing to me lols. i just like harry potter a lot! XD the stories are all so nice~~ lol. and the music (esp the one they played when they screened the cast at the end) just made me reminisce so much abt ntmb days!! the times where we all played 'highlights from harry potter' in the band.. well it was the super simplified version lah but its still nice :) and the memory of it feels even better! hahaha. miss those days mannnn~~~

and on a random note, ha i mistook next sat's steamboat for today -.- maybe i really am blur... nvtheless, im looking fwd to it and a proper discussion abt our europe trip ;)

anw, the da vinci exhibition was quite inspiring. really amazing to see all his works! am especially impressed with the paintings of 'the last supper' and of cos, 'mona lisa' :) i hope i'll get to visit the louvre museum in paris and see the actual painting for myself! XD

restaurant was super busy tonight! X( wanted to leave at 9pm and go devin's farewell dinner but der were so many ppl, by the time i checked my phone it was 920pm alr =x

but i met another completely unexpected person at the restaurant today again! haha. ytd i met dr. michael patterson when i walked into the restaurant! like O.O!!!! was totally surprised to see him sitting at the table! hahaha. think he cldnt rmbr me at our 1st greeting but after a while when i served him his food and all he started talking to me and making conversation, and said he cant rmbr clearly but yeah he rmbrs me lol. must be all the cognitive processes going on in his brain after i greeted him~~ :P he's my cognitive psy professor last year, btw :) really surprised to see him! in a pleasant way of cos :)) its like one of the very few, memorable times where u get to talk to ur prof casually outta the sch context. makes me miss gumert a bit HAHAHAH. ohwells. psy profs are really all so nice and friendly~~ :D

and today i saw the random guy who took a photo with me a streetfest! lols. i dun even rmbr him.... =x ok in fact i didnt even see who i was taking a photo with at SF cos i was rushing back to catch WV's perf lol. but anw, was damn shocked when this guy, who was at the basin washing his hands, spoke to me when i came outta the toilet and asked if i rmbr him (i really dont), and if im xinyi and a singer. really damn chua tio! can u imagine?? its like, this stranger knows my name and wad i do!! =/ lols. dun thk i'll ever see this person again but if i do, i hope i'll give a better and more sincere greeting than "do u rmbr me?" "....no.." =x haha.

anyhoo, didnt reach in time to eat sakura with them (maybe its a gd thing too, cos i heard it was totally not worth the 30bucks =x) so met them at meridien to play pool instead. lollllll 2375839205 years nv play pool liao now ask me hold cue also feel holy HAHA. but it was nice seeing all the jrock-scene ppl again! :D hopefully we'll meet again to send devin off at the airport~~ :)

speaking of which, i was told i lost weight AGAIN by devin just now -.- he's like the 4th or 5th person telling me tt within the past mth..... oh mannn i really become thinner meh??? tt time 1 person say i still dun believe but now like so many say... hurrr. ok. i will eat more >=( dont try stop me!!! >.<

but ok im damn hungry and damn tired now so im gonna slp. band again tmr!


things are picking up again. :)

work's been a lot better this week, cos im finally being treated more like a fren than employee by "the boss", and i swear, it feels so much better to work with her now :) maybe one has to go thru all that nagging and being picked on, that u realise how nice it feels to finally have your manager smile at you. yeah its a little on the "conditional positive regard" side but, she's not my mom, so its fine haha. but i wont deny such "training" can go both ways. very good, or very bad, its all up to the individual i guess.

have been working everyday this week and im tired, but im glad i at least have shifts to do. money is sooo impt to me now u know >.< haha. lets hope this continues. i dont wanna quit sth i've finally familiarised myself with either :]

and, as horrible as it was and always has been, course registration is finally over! haha. am happy i got most of the slots i wanted, so my timetable's quite swee now :P god bless me and give me the electives i want pls!! a 3-day week will really be fwoooo~! hahah :P

spent the day at home ytd too. maybe its only been a week but it seemed so long. really glad i got the morning and afternoon to myself ytd and today, cos it was really gd for recharging! :D haha. i've been rather homesick recently.. =x

that said, im still looking fwd to going out with my frens for movies. shopping's prob out cos i need to save money and going out only means no input and further output so, im really looking fwd to ice age and harry potter :)) i miss all my girl frens a lot!!! >.<

i know this site has recently become a huge dumping ground for all my rants and stuff but... wait. since when has it not been that??

im not "emo-ing again", just grumbling. gigs are over but my schedule remains the same becos jammings arent the ones tt take up the bulk of my time. work and band are, and i dont see how i can compromise on either becos tts what 28th july - 10th august is all about. the trip better make all these worth it..

mom's tired today, and her leg problems are acting up again. she didnt ask the question she asked last time, but the "atmosphere" was similar. but, its not my choice that i return home tired and grumpy everyday after 11pm. i miss those evenings where i can slack in front of the tv after dinner, and i miss having dinner with my mom. but i cant help it tt work ends at 10+pm and band has "upgraded" to ending at 1030pm, right?

i dun wanna wallow in self-pity, but im really sick of this lifestyle. someone give me normalcy back pls.. oh and can i have a bonus back massage too?? :D

doesnt help tt planning nxt sem's timetable is SO FRUSTRATING. argh. i really really really DONT WANT to take stats..... but its gonna be useful for fyp and if i go into research psy (for which im not even sure of).. :( which shld i choose to go along with? the more practical choice of taking sth useful, or the go-with-ur-heart decision of taking another module im interested in?
